Lunch hour splurge!

During my lunch hour I decided to venture into the local Walgreens and check out the new products. I found some gems. If you want to see my treasures, read on!

One of my all time favorites the Maybelline Color Tattoos in '65 Gold Rush' Isn't it gorgeous?!

Below are two L'oreal Infallible silky pencils eyeliners. I have been eyeing these these for awhile now and decided to take the plunge and buy two... one is just never enough. I tried the silver in my water line and I am already obsessed. So freaking perty!

These are apparently the new hot drugstore glosses and I can totally see why. Maybelline's 'The Elixir' is a from the Colorsensational line. They are pretty darn opaque for a gloss and the color range is insane! Clearly I am into the hot pinks and purple tones right now, but they also had nudes and reds as well. I am definitely excited to try some other shades.

Shades from left to right:
040 Vision In Violet
030 Raspberry
085 Hibiscus Haven
005 Breathtaking Apricot

I kind of totally forgot how much I love these Covergirl lipsticks. Since the last time I checked them out they have exploded with tons of new colors. Again, I'm all about the pink and purple game these days. Also I should add these feel quite smooth on the lips and are buildable in opacity.

'Divne' is such a great, wearable purple.

'Embrace' is a deep berry plum that made me feel quite sexy and vampy.

I can't believe i waited this long to buy 'Dollhouse' by Wet 'n Wild. It is from the Mega Last lipstick line and it is bomb! It reminded me of 'Candy Yum Yum' or Raspberry Swirl by MAC. It is so opaque and lovely. I can't get enough!

This shade 'Mauve Outta Here' was such a pleasant surprise. Wow, what a refreshing rose colored pink. I usually stray away from mauves because i thought they would look boring on me, but this just made me look radiant. I could see this flattering many different skin tones.

I am surprisingly pleased with the damage i did in about 15 minutes. These products were all fairly high quality, especially for the price. So excited to experiment with them more and pair them with other items in my collection.

What are your new favorite from the drugstore?

Katy Perry Inspired Nails

Last month I celebrated my 22nd birthday. It was awesome. I took the liberty of pampering myself all day to celebrate my beautiful life. The highlight of my day was getting my nails done. I opted for gel, and I worked closely with my manicurist, Paul, to create a dazzling Katy Perry inspired look!

Giving New Life to Old Fake Nails

I recently indulged and treated myself to gel nails. If you aren't familiar with these, basically they are synthetic nails that can substitute for natural nails that are either too short, unevenly textured, or nails that have short nail beds. There are several types of faux nails to choose from, and this was my first experience with gel nails. I have been extremely satisfied with my choice to try gel nails. They are very shiny and because the gel polish is cured by a UV light, it doesn't chip or lose its shine. It has been eleven days since I had my nails done, and they are starting to look pretty shabby. It is usually recommended that you fill your nails every two to three weeks. Now you may be wondering why mine haven't lasted longer. I have been blessed with extremely fast growing nails. Even when I paint my own natural nails they grow out super quickly. I kind of forgot about the fact that my nails grow at the speed of light when i chose to get faux nails, but nonetheless I do not regret my choice. Instead of heading into the nail salon after practically a week only to spend money on having them filled, I decided to take matters into my own hands (oh god i love cheesy puns) and give my nails an at-home-makeover. To find out how I prolonged the life of my faux nails keep reading!

Jennifer Hudson Looks Pretty in Pink

Did you see Jennifer Hudson on Oprah this past week? She looked dazzling. Not only has she lost 80 lbs on the WeightWatchers program, but her makeup was divine. To celebrate her big weight loss, I thought i'd do a tutorial on her bold look from her Oprah appearance.

Screw You Acne!

I recently suffered from some serious acne. At the end of summer my skin went CRAZY. I figured it would clear itself up, but it just kept getting worse and worse. My solution at the time was to cover it up with makeup. Frankly, I got pretty fabulous at covering up blemishes and acne scars. I don't know what I would do without MAC Studio Finish Concealer. It's great for undereye circles but even better for covering up acne.

If you want to know how I finally cleared my skin instead of just covering it up keep reading.

Soft and Nude Tutorial

The lovely Lauren volunteered to be my model for this beautiful look. Lauren has amazing porcelain skin with beautiful pink undertones. She also rarely breaks out so her skin has a beautiful smooth and even texture.

I decided to try out an sultry evening look with nude and shimmery colors made popular by such socialites as the Kardashians.

If you like this look, click below to learn how I created it.
